86 Eighty-Six Series Exceeds 1.8 Million Copies in Circulation

The official Dengeki Bunko Twitter account announced on Wednesday that the 86 Eighty-Six series exceeded 1.8 million copies in circulation. This number includes the light novel, manga, and spin-offs. Volume 12 of the light novel will release on February 10 with a special edition that comes with the official Nendoroid of Bloody Reina.

86 Eighty-Six is a light novel series written by Asato Asato and illustrated by Shirabii. The series began serialization in February 2017 under the Dengeki Bunko imprint. Square Enix JP released a statement back in July 2022 announcing that both the direct manga adaptation titled 86 Eighty-Six (illustrated by Motoki Yoshihara) and the spin-off manga series 86: Run Through The Battlefront (illustrated by Hakuya Yamasaki) were canceled due to each respective artist’s health.

86 Eighty-Six also received two additional manga spin-off series titled 86: Operation High School (illustrated by Suzume Somemiya), which released a total of two volumes, and 86: Fragmental Neoteny (illustrated by Shinjo Takuya), which came to an end last year with Volume 3. Both manga titles were serialized in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Alive.
