   Some of the most endearing relationships are found in anime. Many characters find themselves in intense romances that show the true meaning of love and connection. These couples’ stories are so intertwined that they appear destined for each other. Though they may face many tribulations on their way to happiness, these couples were always meant to be together.

   Whether the couples met when they were young or when they were older, it is clear that their pairings are inevitable. The couples have many relationship dynamics, but all end in lasting partnerships fans know will last. Romance can be tricky to navigate, but these anime characters always had a clear path toward their happy endings.

   In Kamisama Kiss, Tomoe & Nanami were destined to be together from the start of the series – even though Tomoe vehemently denied any potential feelings for Nanami at first. Nanami thought that Tomoe was always in love with Yukiji until she traveled back in time.

   There, Nanami realized that Tomoe was in love with her the entire time, but confused her with Yukiji because of a string of confusing circumstances. In actuality, Tomoe waited for Nanami for 500 years.

   Instead, they put themselves and everyone else around them through the psychological wringer via a series of nonsensical mind games hoping to trap the other into a confession.    Taiga and Ryuuji have bad reputations at school, and both feel let down by at least one of their parents. The more they hang out together, the more they see the softer sides of each other, making them destined to become a couple despite their initial goals.

Meanwhile, Yuri’s enthusiasm inspires Victor to restart his skating career. The two men’s love of figure skating and each other sparks into a touching relationship that began all because of an inebriated request.

   Although Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura are in the same class, they do not officially meet until Miyamura helps her younger brother get home when he finds the boy injured. Hori and Miyamura bond over their shared alternate personas and vow to keep each other’s secrets. The two begin to fall in love as they learn more about one another in Horimiya.

   Hori and Miyamura both have flaws, but they accept each other regardless, forming a strong relationship based on trust and communication. Many try to interfere with their relationship, but Hori and Miyamura are too dedicated to each other to allow anything to come between them.

   5 Edward Elric & Winry Rockbell

It is the perfect culmination of their relationship that had been building for decades. Edward and Winry survive everything to finally live a peaceful life together.

   When the two go on a mission to save Hinata’s sister, Naruto experiences a genjutsu that makes him realize his feelings for Hinata. After so many years of fighting alongside one another, Hinata and Naruto finally get together, proving that love and patience can win in the end.

   3 Shun Hashimoto & Mio Chibana

While there, he notices a boy who sits on a bench and watches the ocean and tries to talk to him. The boy shoots him down but later apologizes and says he does not mind Shun’s attention.

   Unfortunately, the boy, Mio Chibana, moves away for a time. However, Mio comes back to Okinawa years later just to be with Shun again. The men begin a touching romance, and Shun finally feels loved and accepted for the first time in his life. Though they were separated for a time, Mio returns to give Shun the courage he needs to be himself.

   Usagi and Mamoru have a romance that never dies, even when their bodies perish. The pair find each other time and again to rule over the Moon Kingdom. Though they are separated for long periods in Sailor Moon, Usagi and Mamoru always find their way back to each other and fall in love all over again.

   When all traces of Mitsuha start to disappear one day, Taki goes on a journey only to discover that Mitsuha tragically died when a meteor hit her small town three years prior. Taki scrambles to find a way to save her and thankfully makes one last connection before she is gone for good. As Taki hopes to meet Mitsuha in the future, their relationship proves that love can transcend time and death.
